5 things to know before moving to Canada

Hello hello, today I wanna write about things you should know before moving to Canada. You may have heard some of these before but I think they are still important to write about.

  1. High taxes: if you are moving from a country that has a lower income tax you can expect taxes to take 15-40% of your income depending on how much money you make and to put it into perspective.
  2. Languages: Canadian have two official languages French, English. The thing is everyone in Canada doesn’t speak both at least 17% of Canadians can carry on a conversation both in English and in French. I recommend making sure if you learned English, you’re moving to a place that is primarily English-speaking considering it’d be difficult to move somewhere that they talk French.
  3. The weather: Be prepared for the cold unless you move to a warmer place like Vancouver, BC.
  4. Healthcare: The good news is it’s free for visiting a doctor or a check-up but for pills and prescriptions you would pay but if you have a kid under 18 years old that would be free.
  5. Multiculturalism: Canada has people from different races, religions, and cultures. Photo by Daniel Joseph Petty from Pexels
