Start your own business-Teach an online course

Hi ladies, hope you are in a good spirit. Welcome back to my blog and thanks for reading my blog post about online teaching. You know statistics show that people shift to online education cause it’s easy to access and more affordable and I know you have a skill or you know something that you can teach others and make money it could be about cooking, stitching, drawing, cooking, playing an instrrument, … so if you are interested to learn how you can do that read this post completely.

  1. Prepare the basics

You have to know basic computer skills and have a good internet connection.

First you need to know who are your students and consider different time zone.

Prepare your syllabus and material like presentation slides, files for sharing, …

Find a proper workspace and it’s really important to be focused on what you are doing. It’s better to choose a place which has a good lighting and your background is not distracting for students.

Choose encouraging discussion that students get involved considering online classes have a potential to be boring. You can encourage them by asking for doing assignment, monitoring their progress weekly, …

2. Finding a right platform to start

There are various tools available to teach online, free, and paid. If you don’t want to spend money initially, you can just use the free tools as they work almost as well.

Udemy: It is a platform that allows instructors to build online courses on their preferred topics. Using Udemy’s course development tools, they can upload videos, PowerPoint presentations, PDFs, audio, ZIP files, and live classes to create courses.

Teachable: Teachable is an all-in-one platform that helps you create and sell courses online. Teachable handles everything from web hosting to payment processing. They want to give you more time so you can focus on what matters—creating an awesome online business. Here is the video that you can learn more about this platform.

Skillshare: They welcome classes across a wide range of categories, including illustration, photography, business, and many more. Skillshare classes are demystifying, personal, and engaging: they share actionable tips that inspire students to put their new skills into practice. To ensure a consistent experience for our community, our moderation team routinely reviews all classes and may remove those that are not in accordance with our guidelines (see below). We believe these guidelines allow us to foster a creative, collaborative, and genuine community for sharing and learning. Learn more about details click here

3. Finding students. Whatever I mentioned is really easy to do but the hardest part is finding students. Here I’ll write the ways you can find the audience.

Writing blog post: in this way you have an opportunity to let your audience know you better and share your skills then refer them to your teaching platform.

Start a YouTube channel: Here you can be in touch with your audience easily and teach some short lessons for free then refer them to your professional teaching platform to learn more. Even you can set up a Zoom meeting to teach them online but you have to deal with the payment process.

Setup an Instagram channel: This is the one of the best ways to interact with your audience and encourage them to attend in your classes and updating them about your new lessons, …
